RedHawks' free throws sink Tigers' rally

Georgetown College men's basketball trailed by 10 with just less than 2:30 left on the road Saturday. Derrin Boyd hit a three and the comeback began. Unfortunately, Martin Methodist College hit eight-of-10 free throws in the final 1:18 to hold off the charge. The RedHawks (15-8, 11-8) picked up its first ever series win over the Tigers (15-5, 12-5).

GC will stay on the road and play Freed-Hardeman University Monday evening before finishing regular season play at home on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20.

The game got within three on a Jaquay Wales make in the paint, but never got any closer. MMC finished on an 8-6 run, all points from the foul line, to hold off the charge.

Boyd finished with a game-high 22 points, while Kyran Jones had 20 points and nine rebounds.
