Tigers finish season in quarterfinals

Georgetown College men's soccer squared off with No. 22 Cumberland University Thursday in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The Tigers (7-10) lost by a touchdown in the first meeting roughly three weeks ago. However, with just less than 15 minutes left in the first half it was 0-0 and GC battled valiantly all night.

The Phoenix used a goal in the 32nd minute to break the game open and then a penalty kick for insurance before the first half elapsed. They went on to win 3-0 and advance to next week's semifinals back in Bowling Green, Ky.

Nick Gregory finished the year with 13 goals, tying him for fourth all-time on the regular season list. His 29 points is tied for sixth in a season.
