Men's Tennis Uses Strong Singles Day to Nab Comeback Win at TMU

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - Singles play has at times shown itself to be a strength of the Georgetown College men's tennis team so far in 2022. On Saturday, that was again on full display as the Tigers rallied for a win at Thomas More University.

Georgetown (8-9, 3-2 MSC) fell into a 1-0 hole after doubles action, but a solid effort in singles play helped the Tigers come from behind to beat the Saints (6-7-1, 2-3 MSC) 4-3.

Cole Wilson and Parker Clarke continued their solid season at the top of the doubles lineup for Georgetown, but the other two spots came up empty as TMU grabbed the 1-0 lead.

Wilson battled his way to a three set win at the number one singles as well, and Zach White, Tsugunosuke Hirose, and Logan Smallwood also took individual singles wins to help lift the Tigers to the 4-3 win.

Georgetown will step out of Mid-South Conference play for a tough trip north. The Tigers will head to Indianapolis, Indiana to do battle with the Marian University Knights (11-6-1) at Noon on Saturday, April 2, as a part of the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational.
