Sports Medicine
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Georgetown College Sports Medicine Department is to provide the highest quality healthcare available to student-athletes in a professional and caring manner. Should an injury or illness occur, it is the sports medicine team’s mission to recognize and treat with the appropriate medical care, returning them to competition as quickly and safely as possible.
CONTRACT STATEMENT:
The Georgetown College Sports Medicine Staff is dedicated to the success and well-being of each student-athlete and consists of 5 full-time certified athletic trainers (ATCs) and 4 team physicians. All five athletic trainers are contracted through UK HealthCare Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine and provide coverage for all Georgetown College athletic events.

Head Athletic Trainer: Jake Ryan, MS, LAT, ATC

Jake comes to Georgetown after serving as athletic trainer at Sayre High School. Prior to SHS, he was Eastern Kentucky University's Director of Sports Medicine. Jake is not new to Georgetown, he was Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Tigers for many years and before that the Head Athletic Trainer at Concord University in West Virginia. Jake has also worked as an Athletic Trainer for the Baltimore Orioles organization. He earned a Masters in Exercise and Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Murray State, and a bachelors degree from EKU in Physical Education, Athletic Training option.

Stacee is a native of Mt. Sterling, KY. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Kinesiology. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in athletic training in 2012 from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Sport Leadership from the University of Kentucky in 2025. She came to Georgetown College from Savannah College of Art and Design.

Lara is a native of Waddell, Arizona. She played collegiate soccer and graduated from Washburn University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She began her Athletic Training career at Central Methodist University while also obtaining a Master of Education with emphasis in Athletic Administration. Since then, she has worked at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and most recently Midway University.

Zoe hails from Louisville, KY and joined Georgetown College in 2025. She graduated from Campbellsville University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She also earned a Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Bellarmine University in 2025.

FACILITIES:
Georgetown College has two athletic training facilities on its campus:
- Main Campus Athletic Training Room (Main ATR) is located on the 1st floor of Davis-Reid Alumni Gym
- East Campus Athletic Training Room (East ATR) is located in the Brown Conference Center
Facility hours will be posted at the beginning of each semester. These hours are subject to change. If a conflict with the posted times arises, accommodations can be made on an individual basis with each team’s athletic trainer(s).
