Golnick scatters two hits in win

Bryan Golnick throws a complete game shutout, scattering two hits and walking two for Georgetown College baseball Tuesday. The Tigers (14-7) defeated Union College 4-0. He struck out nine of the 28 hitters he faced.

David Rojas scored the winning run off his single in the second drove in Nicholas Dilorenzo. Luke Turino's second double came in the fourth, where a balk and a ground out brought in the insurance run.

Turino went 2-for-4 from the plate with run scored, while six other Tigers had a hit against three Bulldog (5-11) pitchers.

Golnick went through the order without surrendering a hit. Brice Elkins' second at bat was a single and he was stranded. In the fourth Jackson Geisler reached on a bunt was later picked off. Those were the lone hits against the Tiger.

GC is back in action 6 pm Friday hosting Freed-Hardeman University.
