Home runs big in win over Eagles
Georgetown College baseball has two, two-run, home runs to aid in a big road win against Asbury University Tuesday. The Tigers (16-9) traveled to Wilmore, Ky. for a 9-4 win. Justin Brodt got it going with the first two-run shot in the top of the first. Shota Usuda added the other in a five-run, seventh inning that broke the game loose for GC.
The Eagles (20-4) with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the fifth for a one-run game. They added the final tally in the ninth as a last gasp.
Brodt finished the day 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Chris O'Neal had three hits with two RBI and a run scored. Joshua Duarte, Luke Turino and Usuda each had one hit.
Bryan Golnick started and went four and a third on the mound, giving way to Andrew Day who picked up the win in the quality relief role.
Tigers are back in action with a weekend series hosting University of the Cumberlands.
