Tigers advance to face Saints again

A two-run shot in the second inning seemed to give Bethel University the upper hand against a Georgetown College baseball team that was struggling to find offense. However, Dashon Moore changed all of that with one swing for his first home run of the season. The shortstops blast tied the game. An inning later, the Tigers (34-17) used their aggressive base running to score two more and eventually win 5-2.

They advance to Saturday afternoon's consolation bracket semifinal against Thomas More University. First pitch is set for 3 pm ET.

Keon Taylor came in to pick up the win, striking out five of the nine hitters he faced. Johan Castillo got it all started, striking out four and giving way to the ace reliever with two outs in the sixth.

BU was threating that inning, touching Castillo up for a single and a walk that made things interesting with only one out. With a single through the hole at second, it appeared to be a potential go-ahead run for the Wildcats (20-19). However, Eric Thrower came up drilling the ball to home and catching the runner at the plate as Brandon Krennrich snagged the throw and made the tag. That helped to shift the momentum and coach Micah Baumfeld used the opportunity to bring in Taylor.

GC is 4-0 this season against the Saints, having beaten them in the first game of double-elimination play.
