Tigers Drop First of Year

Tigers Drop First of Year

After making the 12hr bus trek from Kentucky to Louisiana for the Cajun Collision, the Tigers would first be tasked in facing Loyola New Orleans. Offensively, the game would start out well for the Tigers. Jarrett Chapman would lead it off with a double in the gap, and eventually come around to score the first run of the game off of a single from Justin Starkey. It looked like the Tigers would be able to scratch more runs across the board, but previous struggles continued, and they would strike out with bases loaded two times. The Tigers would get back in the run column for the only other time in the next inning, thanks to the first home run of the year thanks to Chapman. Chapman would give the Tigers a 3-1 lead. They would get another run after Joshua Duarte's triple. This would be the end of the good fortune for the Tigers, as they would go scoreless from here on out.

Beau Becker would get the start again in the opener for the Tigers. Shaky defense behind him would not be his friend, as he would fail to get out of the 3rd inning. Anthony Barrera would come in for him in the 3rd to close his line. Barrera would come back for the 4th, and give up 3 runs, with two of them coming off a home run. Next out of the 'pen would be Chris Lenocker. Lenocker would get hit around in his lone inning giving up four runs. Last out of the 'pen for the Tigers would be Jared Casebier. He would work a clean inning, only giving up one hit, and stranding two runners.
