Schineller Calls Game

In the Tigers first true home game of the year, the Tigers would send out stud senior Trevor Baker. Entering the start, Baker had a .64 ERA. He would pitch to his sub-1 ERA in this start, but at the end it would be raised slightly to .86. Unlike his two other starts, the first looked shaky for Baker, as he would allow a leadoff walk, which would come around to score on a single later in the inning. This would be all that Madonna would get off the senior, as over the final four innings, only two batters would reach base. In the meantime, he would strikeout 8 Crusaders, while only walking two. However, Baker has still been unable to get his first Tiger win, as his offense has only provided him with 2 runs while he has been on the bump. Bryson Huwar would come in for the 8th and 9th and shut down Madonna. Huwar picks up his 3rd win of the year, moving his record to 3-0.

The offense continued to look like it was primed to break out, as there was plenty of chances to do so. They had runners on the bases in multiple innings, with multiple runners being in scoring position. The Tigers would break through in the 2nd when, Jacob Dezarn would beat out a routine grounder. He would promptly steal second and third with two outs. With Jarrett Chapman up, he would hit a high chopper through the left side of the infield to even the score. There were multiple chances later in the game, where tiny mistakes hindered the offense. The Tigers would strike again in the 9th, when sophomore Landon Dismang would get a 2-out single to pass the baton to heavy hitter, Hank Schineller. Off to a slow start on the year, Schineller would make his presence known on his first long ball of the year, which would give the Tigers the win, and their third walk-off win of the year.
