Tigers Swept in Double Header

Looking to split the doubleheader on the first day, the Tigers would send out junior Beau Becker. Becker would get things going nicely, but they would quickly spoil. Becker would K the first batter, but he would reach first on a mistake from the catcher. He would come around to score, to give SAU the first run of the game. The second was no better for Becker, as five more runs would come home to score. However, only 3 of the 6 were earned, as multiple infield errors would not benefit him. Sophomore Ashton Deskins would come on in for the 3rd for his second outing of the year. Deskins would look similar to what he did in his first outing of the year, but longer this time. He would only allow one run over his three innings of work, and by far look like the best arm out of the 'pen for the Tigers in game two. Mitchell Knight would follow Deskins, and in his Tiger debut, Knight would get smacked around in his lone inning of work. He gave up three runs across four hits and a walk. Down 9-2, the Tigers would turn to a new arm. Dawson Hope would be tasked with the final three innings, and over that would allow two runs on two hits, and four free bases, via 2 walks and 2 hit by pitches.

Once again, the offense would not make much noise in this one. The Tigers would only manage 6 hits, compared to SAU's 12. A third of the hits came from one man, as Jarrett Chapman had two hits in five at bats. The Tigers wouldn't get on the board until the 3rd. They wouldn't score off a hit, but rather a passed ball, in which Hank Schineller would trek on home. The Tigers would get their second run in the 7th, when Joshua Duarte singled home Joey Lapolla. The offensive struggles have harmed the Tigers all year, and did yet so again in this one. The Tigers would fall in this one 12-2.
