Offensive Struggles at Forefront in Game 3

After yesterday's thrashing, the Tigers were looking to bounce back. This time it was Julian Huerta's turn to start for the Tigers. Huerta would work efficiently and quickly first. The second would not be as quick due to the first two batters getting hits, and being on second and third with no outs. SAU would score, but at the cost of a double play. SAU would get back in the run column in the 3rd. They would score two more runs, but only one would be earned. In the fourth, two doubles would chase Huerta from this one, and coach Randy Guite would call on Jared Casebier. Immediately he would come in and make an impact, by picking off the inherited runner at second base. He would then get the next five outs for the Tigers. He too would leave in the middle of an inning. Mason Mortimer would come in with a lefty up to hit, and runners on the corners. Mortimer would strike out the batter to end the inning. The seventh was as effective, despite the single to lead off the inning. He would get second 6-4-3 DP of the game to get out of the inning.

Similar to the games yesterday, the Tigers offense was non-existent. They would only scrounge together 4 hits in this 7 inning affair. The lone Tiger run came in the 3rd on a perfectly executed hit and run, which saw Joey Lapolla score from first on a double from Joshua Duarte. Following this inning, the Tigers only got hits in the 5th and 7th from Jacob VonThaden. This would be the 8th game in a row, in which the Tigers failed to score more than 3 runs.
