Mistakes Loom Large in Game Two

In game two, Beau Becker would get the ball. Becker would look like his best self, and navigate this Union lineup for 5 and ⅔ innings. He would give up four of his six hits, through his 5 shutout innings. The final two hits came in the 5th. The leadoff batter singled, then would get to third via two stolen bases. He would score on a single. Becker would promptly then strike out what would be his last batter of the game. Becker's line finished at 5.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, and 3 Ks.

Coming in relief would be star Trevor Baker. Not being able to start due to injury, Baker would be available out of the 'pen. Baker immediately made an impact by striking out the first batter. Baker would then be tasked with working the next three innings. Baker would allow a run after a lead off double, but would score the game winning run off of a sac-fly. Baker moves to 0-2 on the year, but over his 4.1 innings he would strike out 5 and only allow 4 hits.

The offense continued to show signs of looking like they would be primed to break out, but the low scoring offense would continue to struggle. In the first, Sam Turilli would reach via error, Hank Schineller would single to give the Tigers runners on first and second. Payton Rios would then lace a single through the right side to score Turilli. They would then pop out twice to end the inning.

The first of the four baserunning blunders came in the 2nd, when Garret Thurman would get picked off at second. The second also came after Thurman got thrown out at second to end an inning. The biggest blunder came in the 9th when Jarrett Chapman tried to advance to third when the runner on third did not try to advance, with the infield in and a weak grounder to second. The final blunder came in the tenth, when Jacob Dezarn would get caught off the base on a lineout to end the game. The Tigers ended the game with 8 hits.
