Tigers Maul Cougars in Sweep

In game three of the series, the Tigers would get on the board early in the first. After Landon Dismang reached third on an error and Hank Schineller reached via a walk to give the Tigers runners on the corners with one out. Payton Rios would keep up the torrid presence at the plate, as he would single home Dismang to get the Tigers up 1-0. They would get a second after an rbi groundout from Jarrett Chapman.

The Tigers would get back in the run column in the 4th after two free bases to start the inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Jacob Dezarn would go the other way to single home the first run. Austin Vincent would plate home the second run of the inning, as it would extend the lead to 4-1. The last two runs of the inning would score on a wild pitch and passed ball, getting them to 6-1. Dezarn and Vincent lead the way for the offense with a combined 5 hits.

Chad Baker would get the start in game three of the series for the Tigers as he looked to pick up his second win of the year. St. Xavier would get the scoring started in the second when they scored on an error by Baker. The only other time that Baker would get hurt would be in the fourth when SXU would leave the yard. Baker's final line would be 5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER (2 R), and 4 K's.

First in relief for the Tigers was trusted lefty Mason Mortimer. Mortimer would get the next five outs for the Tigers, while only surrendering 1 run, and leaving the lead for the Tigers at 6-4. Following Mortimer out of the 'pen would be closer Bryson Huwar. Huwar would look dominant for the Tigers over the course of his seven outs. Huwar would only allow one hit and one walk. Huwar would pick up his second save of the year, and help Chad Baker move to 2-3 on the year.
