Duarte and Vincent Propel Tigers in Late Comeback

Fresh off the sweep from last weekend, the Tigers looked to keep the offense rolling. They would get on the board early in the first. A single from Joshua Duarte to lead off the game, and a sac-bunt from Landon Dismang to push Duarte to scoring position. Hank Schineller would push Duarte across the plate with a single up the middle. Duarte would be at the forefront of their next scoring, after he walked. He would get to third on a groundout from Dismang, and then come around to score on an error, to push the lead to 2-0.

Sam Turilli got his first start of the year for the Tigers, and provided a very serviceable start. Turillu would get touched for 3 runs, with only one being earned after an error. Mason Mortimer would get the nod in the 5th, trying to keep the Tigers in it, as they trailed by one. Mortimer would get the next five outs. Following Mortimer, Bryson Huwar would look to pick up his third save of the year. Inheriting a runner on first, Huwar would walk and hit the next two batters to load the bases with two outs. Huwar would promptly strike out the next batter to head to the 7th. The 7th was 1-2-3 for the Tigers, as Mortimer picked up his second win, as he was the last pitcher to pitch with the lead, and Huwar gets save number three on the year.

Down 3-2 in the 6th, the Tigers would do major damage with two outs. After reaching on an error and a walk, the Tigers looked primed to cash in with runners on 1st and 2nd. Austin Vincent would come up clutch once again, as he doubled to left to tie the game at 3. Duarte would collect the game winning hit, after a single through the left side to score Jacob Dezarn. Vincent, Duarte and Schineller each had two hits to combine for 6 of the Tigers 7 hits in this one.
