Trio of Homers Backs Barrera's Gem

Riding a 6 game win streak into the beginning of conference play is as ideal as you could wish for as a coach. Going for the Tigers, they have one of their best arms going, as Anthony Barrera got the start to open MSC play. The first would see the Phoenix get on the board first, but after that, Barrera would go 6 shutout innings in dominant fashion. The Phoenix would be unable to get anything going offensively, as Barrera would keep hitters off balance. Barrera now moves to 4-1 on the year, picking up his second complete game, and 4th win in as many starts.

The Tigers went down early in this one, but would have a new friend carry them to victory in this one. 3 home runs in this would propel the offense. A three-run home run from Landon Dismang, and Solo shots from Joshua Duarte and Payton Rios provided the Tigers five of their seven runs. The other runs came on a rbi-ground out from Jarrett Chapman in the 3rd, and a single from Dismang in the 4th.

The top 4 batters in the lineup collectively went 8/14 with 3 homers and 6 RBI. The 3 other hits came from Austin Vincent, Jacob Dezarn, and Jacob VonThaden. With this win, the Tigers push their win streak to 7, and move to 1-0 in conference play.
