Baker's Domination Continues at Bethel

Headed back to Tennessee for the third weekend of conference play, the Bethel Wildcats would host the Tigers in the first of three games on Good Friday.

The offense was quiet for the first two innings, but would get on the board in the third on the second time through the lineup. Joshua Duarte would leave the yard, to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. In the 4th, the Tigers would get back in the run column. A leadoff single from Jarrett Chapman, a sac-bunt from Justin Starkey, and a single from Jacob VonThaden to score Chapman for an early 3-0 lead.

Starting the game for the Tigers would be ace Trevor Baker. Baker comes in sporting a sub 2.0 era. Baker would follow suit in this one, as he would be dominant for the first five, only allowing 3 hits and striking out five. The sixth would be a little less dominant, as Bethel would finally get on the board. Two singles and an error would see them plate their only two runs of the game. Baker would come back out in the 7th, and get an early out. He would then walk the next batter, which would end his day.

Bryson Huwar would be the one turned to in this save opportunity. Huwar would come in and shut the door, as he would strike out the first batter, and then get a ground out to secure the win and first game of the series. Baker now moves to 2-2 on the year, while Huwar picks up save number 4.
