Duarte's Scorching Hot Day Evens the Series

Going into game two of the doubleheader, the Tigers would send Anthony Barrera to the bump. He too would work a scoreless first, but give up the first run of the game in the second. An rbi single up the middle saw them take a 1-0 lead. Now in the 4th, Barrera would get two quick outs after the lead off reached base. However, an errant throw from shortstop, Austin Vincent, saw Campbellsville extend their lead to 2-0.

In the 5th, Jacob Dezarn would slap a single through the left side of the infield to reach base. Now with two outs, Joshua Duarte would step up to the plate and hit his 8th homer of the year, and tie this ballgame up at 2 a piece, through 5.

In the 6th, CU would get another run to regain their lead. It would take until the 7th for the Tigers to answer back. Austin Vincent would lead off the inning with a double in the left center gap, and turn the lineup over to a scorching hot Joshua Duarte. Duarte would promptly pick up his third hit of the game, and move Vincent to third with no outs. Duarte would then steal his 29th bag of the year, to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Jarrett Chapman would even this one up with a sac-fly to deep center to score Vincent, and advance Duarte. Jose Cazorla would then plate home Duarte after he grounded out to first.

The 7th, 8th, and 9th innings were entrusted to Julian Huerta. Huerta, who had spent time last year as the Tigers closer, re-entered that role today. And today, he was shut down. He faced 10 batters over three innings, while only giving up one hit and striking out two. He does not get a save in this one, but he picks up his 3rd win of the year.
