Cazorla’s 6 RBI Secure Sweep of FHU

Cazorla’s 6 RBI Secure Sweep of FHU

Looking to sweep FHU, the Tigers' bats would come out hot again. Three pitches into the game, the Tigers got three singles from Jacob Dezarn, Payton Rios, and Joshua Duarte loaded the bases before FHU could even blink. A hit by pitch to Hank Schineller gave the Tigers their first run, and led to a mound visit for FHU. Jose Cazorla would then hit a grand slam to extend the lead to 5. The offense would get rolling again when Duarte led off the 3rd inning with his second bunt single of the game. He then made it all the way to third after a wild pitch and passed ball, and then came around to score on a single from Jarrett Chapman. Later in the inning, the bases would be loaded again with two out, and Austin Vincent would come up huge again for the Tigers. He would lace a ball in the left center gap to score two, and extend the lead to 7. They would get their fourth run of the inning when Bryan Sanders scored on a wild pitch. Then in the 4th, Duarte and Chapman would get it going again for the Tigers. Schineller would hit the Tigers second homer of the game, which gave the Tigers a 12-1 lead through 4. In the 6th, Jose Cazorla would hit his second homer of the game, to give the Tigers runs 13 and 14 of the ballgame.

The 4th, 5th, and 6th innings would not be kind to Tiger pitchers, as they would give up 10 runs in the three frames, which made it a ballgame again. Headed into the 8th, FHU would get within one run, as they would score two on a fielder's choice and error.

Only up one, the bottom half of the lineup got things going again for the Tigers. After a leadoff out, Jacob VonThaden and Vincent singled to give the Tigers two runners on. The first run of the inning would score on a balk. DeZarn would then be the first of the next barrage of singles to extend the Tiger lead. Rios singled to give the Tigers runners on the corners. Duarte would then collect his 4th hit of the day, and plate home the 17th run of the day. Chapman collected the final hit of the inning, which saw two runs score, and make it 19-13. Julian Huerta pitched the final three innings, and collected the 3-inning save, which is his second save of the year.
