Cheer wins 3rd straight MSC Championship
Georgetown Cheerleading has again proven itself the elite in the Mid-South Conference by winning the league title for the 3rd year in a row.
The Tigers held a narrow lead after the preliminary round over UT-Southern. Georgetown turned in a score of 91.50 after its performance in the prelims. UT-Southern was right behind with a tally of 91.03.
With the final round score accounting for 75% of the teams' total scores, Georgetown took its game to new heights. The Tigers finished the meet with a team score of 91.9 to take home the crown. UT-Southern finished 2nd with a 91.27 aggregate score.
Trevor Fugate was anemd the Mid-South Conference Cheerleader of the Year. He was also named 1st Team All-Conference, along with Brooke Gantt, Natalie Heflin, Elizabeth Price, Hope Staley, and Sydnie West. Alyssa Adams was named 2nd Team All-Conference.
With the title, the Tigers will also return to the NAIA Cheer Championship, taking place March 10-11 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
