No. 15 Tigers fall in overtime to No. 4 LWC

Georgetown College football had another Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division heartbreaking loss Saturday. In the NAIA Game of the Week, No. 4 Lindsey Wilson College (5-1, 2-0) came to Georgetown and despite taking and early two-score lead needed overtime for a 37-31 win over No. 15 Tigers (4-3, 1-2). Cameron Dukes hit Jaleel Warren, the freshman tight end's first ever catch – on the first play from scrimmage by the Blue Raider offense for a 37-31 win.

After getting behind 10-0 after the first 15 minutes, GC began to turn the tide as the defensive rush bothered Dukes, who ended up being sacked six times.

This allowed Georgetown's offense to find a rhythm and when the dust settled for halftime it was 17-10 LWC.

The Tigers responded with a quick stop in the third quarter and then went smash mouth football behind Daric Pugh and Kyree Hawkins. The tandem rushed 30-plus times for 134 yards and two a touchdown in the final 30 minutes.

Pugh also scored a touchdown with 15 seconds left in the first half to bring the home team within a score.

Hunter Krause also calmed down from a rough 7-for-17 with two interceptions and no touchdowns to go 8-for-13 107 yards and two touchdowns. He threw one more pick unfortunately – the second GC play in overtime to allow Lindsey Wilson to be in position for the victory.

The Tigers have lost three times this season, all to Top 10 teams and both losses in divisional play have come at Toyota Stadium in overtime. Late September it was a 50-49 setback to Bethel University.
