Tigers twice score 21-unanswered in road win

Georgetown College football broke open a scoreless affair with a 13-play drive capped by a 13-yard rushing touchdown from Darius Barbour. It was the catalyst for the Tigers (6-2, 3-2) in a 42-3 win over host Campbellsville University.

It finishes the regular season road games for GC as November will be home against University of the Cumberlands and Cumberland University.

Barbour scored on a pass from Brandon Burgess as the cap of 21-unanswered points. CU hit a 50-yard field goal at the end of the first half for its lone score.

Georgetown piled up three more touchdowns to finish off the day.

GC averaged two rushing touchdowns per game coming into Saturday, but showed grounded game strength with four. Along with Barbour, Jalen Lumpkins, Burgess and Xavier Abernathy found the endzone off rushes. Caleb Jacob threw a late fourth quarter score to Gabriel Johnson-Lowery for two passing scores in the game.

The Tigers host the Patriots 1:30 pm Saturday.
