Football announces 2024 Schedule

Georgetown College Football has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. The Tigers will look to build on the success of the 2023 season which saw the program claim another outright Mid-South Conference Championship and a trip to the NAIA FCS Semifinals.

The Tigers will start the 2024 campaign with 3 straight road contests, including 2 against first-time opponents. On Thursday, August 29th, the Tigers will fly west to take on Montana Tech. The Diggers finished 2023 with a 7-4 record and reached the 1st Round of the NAIA Playoffs. 2 weeks later, Georgetown will play at Alabama A&M, a NCAA FCS program. The Bulldogs finished 2023 at 5-6 out of the SWAC at the FCS level. A trip to Pikeville comes in between the two long trips.

Georgetown will play its home opener on Saturday, September 28th against Reinhardt, who upset the Tigers last season in Georgia, 28-24. After a bye week, the Tigers will celebrate Homecoming and begin the defense of their MSC title on Saturday, October 12th, against Faulkner University. Georgetown won at Faulkner, 28-3, a year ago. Following a trip to Cumberland, Georgetown returns home for 2 straight weeks to take on Bethel and Cumberlands on October 26th and November 2nd, respectively.

The Cumberlands game will also serve as the home finale as the Tigers will take to the road for the final 2 weeks of the 2024 regular season with trips to Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson.

With just 4 home games and a number of tough opponents, Head Coach Chris Oliver discussed the challenges of the upcoming season. "I don't believe it's an exaggeration to say that this is likely the most challenging schedule in the country at our level.  We play three 2023 NAIA playoff participants including a big challenge on the road in week 1 against Montana Tech," Oliver said. "We play the top two returning teams in our crossover games with the Appalachian Athletic Conference, and we've recently added a non-conference game at FCS level Alabama A&M. To top it off, we play the rest of the Mid-South Conference which is always a meat grinder.   We'll certainly be tested each and every week."

Kickoff times and ticketing information will be announced at a later date.
