Football draws #1 Keiser for Quarterfinals

After a thrilling 27-21 win over St. Thomas in Saturday afternoon's FCS 2nd Round game, Georgetown has learned it will stay in Florida for the Quarterfinals and take on #1 Keiser, as announced by the NAIA on Saturday night. Keiser knocked off #20 Pikeville, 56-21, in the 2nd Round.

The meeting will be the 2nd all-time between the schools. They previously met in 2018 while Keiser was part of the expanded Mid-South Conference. Georgetown won that matchup, 21-15.

Keiser enters the game with a perfect 10-0 record and champions of The Sun Conference. They are the defending NAIA national champions. Keiser averages 40.3 PPG and 473.4 yards per game. The Seahawks are led by QB Shea Spencer, who has thrown for 2190 yards, 21 TDs and 4 INTs while completing 70% of his passes. The run game is paced by Andrew Burnette, who was run for 1143 yards and 15 TDs at 6.7 yards per carry. The Seahawks boast a balanced receiving core with 5 players recording multiple touchdown catches on the season.

Defensively, the Seahawks allow just 18.5 PPG. They are led by LB Hunter Hargrave's 62 tackles. Defensive lineman Byron May leads the D with 3.5 sacks, while DB Justin Carcel has 4 interceptions. On special teams, Nico Cavanillas handles most of the kicking duties. He is 10-12 on field goals with a long of 39 and is 46-47 on extra points.
