Jones tallies double-double in win over Wildcats

It was a slow start in McKenzie, Tenn. for Georgetown College men's basketball. However, after a pair of free throws by host Bethel University, the Tigers (10-3, 7-3) came to life. Down nine, 13-4, GC outscored the Wildcats (7-9, 2-9) 43-18 the rest of the first half for a double-digit edge at the break.

The visitors' lead ballooned to a three-point shy of 30 in the second half as they eventually won 94-76. Bethel did not go away, though, chipping it to 13 at one point.

Kyran Jones had another double-double, 21 points and 11 rebounds. Derrin Boyd connected on six threes to finish the night with 20 points. Jaquay Wales dished out a new career-high 11 assists. Brodricks Jones had 18 points to go with his five rebounds, while Seth Johnson and Carson Newsome came off the bench for 10 points each.

GC stays on the road to finish the swing through Tennessee with a game Saturday against Freed-Hardeman University.
