Boyd tallies new career-high in win

Derrin Boyd scored a new career-high as Georgetown College men's basketball cruised to win number two. The Tigers (2-0) had another interesting first half against a scrappy Miami University Middletown before rolling 113-68.

GC led by 11 at the break, allowing the visitors 43 points through 20. The home team clamped down, holding MUM scoreless in the first three minutes and to just three points in nearly six minutes. The Tigers scored 19 in that stretch to put the game away.

Four others joined Boyd with double-digits: Drew LaMont (15), Jayrese Williams (13), Michael Turay (10) and Tae Dozier (10).

Kyran Jones was two shy of double-digits while hauling in his second plus-10 rebound night with 12.

GC is back in action 7 pm Tuesday hosting Midway University.
