HENDERSON, Tenn. - The last time Georgetown College and Freed-Hardeman University met, the Tigers found themselves on the short end of the result as they dropped their second game in Mid-South Conference play. Since that time, the Tigers have been on a roll.
As a part of a three game week for men's basketball on Thursday, Jan. 20, the Georgetown Tigers (14-2, 7-2) avenged that loss to FHU (10-7, 5-5 MSC), 73-59. Georgetown has now won seven straight games, including six in a row in MSC play.

The Lions led for much of the remainder of the half. Georgetown seized control in the second half. The Tigers opened the half on a 14-5 run to take a 43-42 lead. Again, the Lions came right back to reclaim the lead - this time 20 seconds later - and the lead changed hands several times in the next few moments. Midway through the half, however, Georgetown put the game away with a 16-2 run that gave the Tigers a 63-50 lead on their way to the 14-point win.
Jones posted his third straight double-double - and his eighth of the season - with a team-leading 21 points and 14 rebounds. Brooks-Harris also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards, Boyd added 14 points, and Jayrese Williams scored 11 in the game.
The Tigers were 30-for-62 (48.4%) from the floor in the game, 8-for-23 (34.8%) from beyond the arc, and 5-for-6 (83.3%) from the foul line. The Tigers out-rebounded the Lions 39-32, and they held the advantage in points in the paint (38-28), points off turnovers (16-7), second-chance points (14-6), and bench scoring (21-19).
