Brooks-Harris torches Phoenix for 35

Cumberland scored the first basket of the game for a 2-0 lead with 39 seconds in on Saturday. Cam Brooks-Harris followed with a 3 just 18 seconds later. Georgetown never trailed again, and it set off a performance for the ages from the senior. Cam Brooks-Harris torched Cumberland on 13-15 shooting, including 8-10 from 3 in a 101-56 romp to close out the regular season.

His 2nd 3 of the game came 2 possessions later for a 6-2 Tiger lead. A three from Kyran Jones and a lay-in from Jabrion Spikes pushed the advantage to 12-2 at the 16:05 mark and sent Cumberland into a timeout. The lead slowly built as the half progressed. Free throws from Kyran Jones gave the Tigers a 27-14 lead with 6 minutes to go. It also ignited a 17-4 run to close the half. The final 4 points from Georgetown came on grown man dunks from Cam Brooks-Harris, giving GC a 42-18 halftime lead. The Tigers shot 50% in the half, while holding Cumberland to just 29%. Brooks-Harris and Jones combined for 29 on 10-14 shooting.

The 2 dunks from Brooks-Harris were preceded by a 3 in the first half. It set Brooks-Harris off on a run of 10 straight made shots the rest of the way. He hit all 7 shots from the floor after halftime, including 5-5 from beyond the arc as Georgetown continued to run away from Cumberland. The run fed the rest of the team as Georgetown shot a staggering 63% in the half. The Tigers put up 59 2nd half points for the 2nd time in a week. Brooks-Harris finished the half with 20 of his game-high 35. A lay-up from Gavin Stevens with a minute left pushed Georgetown over the century mark for the first time since January 16th against Miami-Middletown.

Beyond the 35 points, Cam Brooks-Harris also finished with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Kyran Jones continues to round into form with another double-double: 16 points, 10 rebounds. Tae Dozier finished with 10 points. Georgetown's bench continues to produce in droves. On this day, the Tigers enjoyed a 29-3 edge in bench points. Georgetown also dominated on the glass, 45-29, without Rashad Bishop in uniform.
