Men's Basketball earns 2-seed, draws LSU Shreveport

Georgetown Men's Basketball earned a 2-seed in the Naismith Quadrant for the upcoming 2025 NAIA Men's Basketball National Championships, as announced by the NAIA on Thursday. Georgetown extends its records for total tournament appearances (43) and consecutive appearances (34).

Georgetown finished the regular season with a record of 26-4 and earned an at-large bid into the tournament. The Tigers draw the 15-seed, LSU-Shreveport Pilots, out of the Red River Athletic Conference. The Pilots finished the regular season with a record of 18-11 and earned an at-large bid. Georgetown finished the regular season averaging 84.2 PPG, while allowing 69.4 PPG. LSU-Shreveport averages 87.2 PPG, while allowing 81.6 PPG.

Georgetown and LSU-Shreveport have played twice before. In 2013, Georgetown beat LSUS in the Fab Four thanks to a 30-foot buzzer beater from Monty Wilson, 90-88. They met again in the 2019 NAIA Tournament with Georgetown coming out on top, 82-79, in the 2nd round. Georgetown went on to win the national championship in both seasons.

Lewis-Clark State (ID) is the 7-seed in the 4-team pod and will take on the 10-seed, Saint Francis (IN) in the first round.

The first round will take place on Friday, March 14th, with the second round game to be played on Saturday, March 15th. All 3 games will be played at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

Georgetown vs LSU-Shreveport will tip at 6:00pm ET. Lewis-Clark State vs Saint Francis will tip at 8:00pm ET on Friday, March 14. The second round game will tip at 5:00pm on Saturday, March 15. Tickets and streaming information will be announced in the coming days.
