Men's Basketball earns 2-seed for MSC Tourney

After a final day loss to Freed-Hardeman, Georgetown Men's Basketball learned it would be the 2-seed for the upcoming Mid-South Conference Tournament.

The Tigers will take on 7-seed, Lindsey Wilson, in a quarterfinal matchup on Sunday, March 2nd, with a scheduled tip time of 6:00pm ET. The tournament will take place at Studle Financial Arena in Bowling Green, KY.

The meeting will be the third of the season between the Tigers and the Blue Raiders. Georgetown won both regular season matchups but by small margins. On January 9th, the Tigers went to Lindsey Wilson and came out with a 73-69 win. Jaquias Franklin led the Tigers on that day with 15 points, while Andres Burney carried a double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds.

In the return matchup on February 8th at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym, Georgetown got out with a 74-68 win. Jabrion Spikes and Tae Dozier combined for 36 in the win on a night the Tigers shot just 1-7 from beyond the arc.

Cumberlands is the 1-seed for the tournament and receives the auto-bye into the semifinals. The Georgetown-Lindsey Wilson winner takes on the winner of Freed-Hardeman and Bethel on Monday March 3rd. The title game is slated for Tuesday, March 4th, at 8:30pm ET.

The winner of the tournament receives the automatic bid into the NAIA Tournament in mid-March.
