Men's golf in 13th place after day 1 of Garn Championship

Men's golf got going again on Monday at the Garn Championship in Nicholasville at Keene Trace.

The Tigers placed 13th as a team after the first day. Steele Paden led the Tigers with a 36-hole total of 156 on the par 72 course, as conditions set up tough scoring for all competitors. Only 3 out of the 103-player field shot better than +3 on the day.

Sean Mullarkey turned in the lowest single round for Georgetown, carding a 76 in his 2nd round of action. Heath Petty shot 163, with Jake Damron turning in a 168, and Cole Logsdon rounding out the quintet with a total score of 173.

Day 2 of the Championship takes place on Tuesday.
