Tigers claw Bearcats, 11-1

Eight different Georgetown College men's soccer players scored Tuesday evening in an 11-1 victory over Brescia University. The Tigers (3-0) wasted little time finding the back of the net. Logan Sparks set up a goal by Noel Roman and not two minutes later Luca Zellman found Ahmed Nossier. GC was up 2-0 before the nine-minute mark.

The offense stalled, the lightning delayed, but then it all started clicking again. A little less than five minutes after the restart, Matthias Roth found the back of the net. A total of three Georgetown goals were scored in the final 15 minutes.

The Bearcats (0-2) snuck in a late goal after the Tigers knocked the ball across the end line. In the confusion the defense did not set quickly as Sam Coxon put it back in motion and Emilano Sifuentes finished the bending corner.

Luca Zellmann helped to squelch that lapse with a goal in the first 16 seconds of the final 45 minutes. Just less than 12 minutes later he found his third goal of the game for a hat trick. Jake McKettrick scored two late.

Seba Bocaz Canales, who earned Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, scored his fourth goal in three games. Colton Durcholz and Micheal Devlin also got into the scoring column.

Georgetown takes a much deserved breather from game action and will return to the pitch 2 pm Monday against Trinity Christian University.
