Perrin leads Tigers to road win

Georgetown hit the road on Saturday to take on Goshen, looking to get back on track and pick up an important 3 points. After falling behind just 34 seconds into the match, things looked dire for the Tigers. Senior center back, Luca Perrin, answered the call delivering early and late to lead the Tigers to a 2-1 win.

After falling behind quickly, the Tigers did not lay down. They kept fighting and in the 23rd minute, Esteban Betancurt Cardona was taken down inside the goal box and earned a penalty. His shot was saved, which could have served as a turning point in the match. The Tigers remained undaunted as in the 30th minute, Perrin found paydirt to level the match at 1 apiece.

The match carried on tied for 58 minutes until Pedro Canal found space in the 88th minute off a slick feed from Perrin to give Georgetown the 2-1 lead. Goshen had 1 final go in the 89th minute, but Shjon Ripy was there to record the last of his 7 saves on the day as the Tigers escaped with a massive 3 points.

It was a tense, physical match that saw 8 yellow cards issued and a 28 fouls called, but the Tigers stuck with their plan to get out with the W. They now head to Carlow (PA) for an afternoon matinee on Wednesday with a 4:00pm start time.
