Ripy tallies incredible 14 saves at Campbellsville

With a number of key players out tonight for the regular season finale, Georgetown had to opt for a defensive lineup and strategy in an effort to stay with Campbellsville. The Tigers managed just 1 shot on goal on the night but were close the entire way thanks to an incredible 14 saves from keeper, Shjon Ripy. The pressure proved a bit too much as Campbellsville won the regular season finale, 3-0.

The Campbellsville barrage started early as Shjon Ripy recorded 5 saves in the first 9:40. Campbellsville's first goal came in the 29th minute on a penalty kick by Malte Ekman. Georgetown's lone shot on goal came from Camilo Ramirez Lopez in the 41st minute. Thanks to Ripy's efforts, Campbellsville led just 1-0 at halftime.

Malte Ekman scored again in the 49th minute for a 2-0 CU lead. The shots kept coming, but Ripy was up to the task as he turned away the next 7 shots that were on target. Campbellsville tallied 1 more goal with less than a minute to go for the 3-0 lead. Ripy made one more stop with 21 seconds to go for his 14th of the night in a stellar performance.

With the regular season over, Georgetown now waits for the rest of the conference to conclude play to determine where the Tigers go for the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
