Georgetown shuts out IU Southeast

Men's tennis traveled to New Albany, IN for a matchup with IU Southeast on Sunday. Georgetown asserted itself from the get go, dropping just 2 sets the entire day, en route to a 7-0 win.

Parker Clarke and Tsugunosuke Hirose got things going in #1 doubles with a 7-5 win to start the day. Logan Smallwood & Stephen Taylor followed suit with a 6-3 win, followed by a 6-4 win from the tandem of Andrew Kennedy & Chase Hechemy.

Once singles action began, the Tigers kept the pressure on. Max Barriere led things off as the #1 single. He took home the win, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 to keep the Tigers in command of the day. Leo Schirmer needed 3 sets as well in the #2 singles match but came out on top, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. From there, the Tigers dominated. Parker Clarke, Tsugu Hirose, Logan Smallwood, and Jackson Jacobi all won their singles matches in straight sets for the clean sweep.

The Tigers will next be in action on Monday, March 13th, in Hilton Head, SC. They'll take on George Mason University starting at 8:30am ET.
