Men's Tennis drops tight match with Huntington

Georgetown Men's Tennis was in action on campus Monday against Huntington. Doubles action was strong for the Tigers, but Huntington rallied in singles competition for a 4-3 match win.

In the doubles, the Tigers top tandem of Max Barriere and Chase Hechemy picked up the first win with a 6-4 result. Tsugu Hirose and Alex Straiger clinched the doubles point for Georgetown with a 6-2 win in their match.

Moving to singles, Barriere was dominant in a 6-2, 6-1 win, but Huntington made its move in the ensuing results. In 2nd singles, Leo Schirmer fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, as did Alex Straiger and Tsugu Hirose in their singles matches. The clincher came in 5th singles when Chase Hechemy fell 6-0, 6-2, thus giving Huntington the 4 wins it needed to claim the day. Stephen Taylor did pull out a 3-set win in #6 singles action to round out the day as he won 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

The Tigers next get into MSC play with a road trip to Cumberland on Thursday. Men's and Women's action starts at 1:00pm ET.
