Tiger Indoor Track & Field Opens Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Five days after the Georgetown College indoor track and field teams' 2022 season opener was canceled due to inclement weather, the Tigers took to the track at the Norton Center in Louisville on Jan. 22 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate. Eight Tiger athletes competed in 11 events.


Freshman Bryce Tucker started the day by posting a Top 10 finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.45 seconds. In the same event for the women, Libby Miller also posted a Top 10 for the Tigers (8.11 seconds), and hers came as the fourth-best time among NAIA runners. Sarah Bolton and Myah Menfee each finished Top 5 in the women's 60-meter hurdles, and Miller also finished 5th in the 200-meter dash.

Bradley Perkins won the men's 600-meters in a time of 1:29.62, Bolton and Emma Bianchi tied for third in the women's high jump (1.55 meters), and Tori Freeman posted a Top 10 in the shot put (9.45 meters) and a Top 5 in the weight throw (11.13 meters).

The Tigers will return to the Norton Center with their full squads for the Tiger Paw Invitational next weekend, with the event scheduled to commence on Friday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. Eastern.
