
Wilson Pendleton wins Lion Invite Shot Put
Wilson Pendleton picked up where he left off from his All-American season a year ago on Saturday. At the Lion Invite, hosted by Mount St. Joseph University, in Cincinnati, OH, Pendleton won the shot put event with a distance of 16.42m (53 feet, 10.5 inches). The distance secured Pendleton an automatic qualifier spot in the NAIA National Indoor Championships.
Elijah Walters led a strong brigade of Tigers in the 3K event. Walters finished 2nd with a time of 9:04.60. Trevor Baker ran 7th in 9:30.30. Justin Bynum and Bryant Curtis ran 10th and 11th, respectively, followed by Layne Clark in 14th and Josiah McMahan in 22nd.
Tadiwanashe Chikondo earned a point towards the team total with an 8th place finish in the 400 meter dash. Chikondo ran in a time of 55.46 seconds. Richard Harris placed 19th in the 800m with a time of 2:21.09.
As a team, the Tigers finished 9th out of 11.
The Tigers next head back to Danville, KY to run in the Centre College Indoor Showcase next Saturday.
