
Pendleton claims MSC Shot Put title; Tigers finish 5th
Wilson Pendleton added to his legacy with another finish atop the podium on Thursday. Pendleton dominated the shot put at the MSC Indoor Championships in Louisville.
Pendleton won the title with a season-best throw of 16.89m (55 feet, 5 inches). The distance was good for a margin of victory of 1.32m over the rest of the competition and was 6th best in the NAIA during the indoor season.
As a team, Georgetown finished in 5th place at the meet with 29 points. The distance medley relay brought home 4 points by finishing 5th in its run. The team of Clark, Harris, McMahan, and Bynum finished in 12:03.10 for the points. The 4x800 relay also finished in 4th place with a time of 9:00.65 to bring home 5 points for the team total. The 4x400 also finished 5th with a time of 3:48.45 for a season best.
Riley Morris brought home a 5th place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:24.48. Justin Bynum set a new PR in the 1 mile event with a time of 4:42.32 to finish 8th. Bynum also set a new PR in the 800m with a time of 2:04.66 to finish 8th.
Wilson Pendleton now prepares for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships to take place in Gainesville, FL from February 27-March 1.
