Marcinek joins Tigers as new assistant coach

Georgetown College track and field adds recent Eastern Kentucky University graduate Anna-Elizabeth Marcinek as the new sprints and jumps coach for the Tigers.

"Liz is a great addition to our program and what we are building," said GC coach Lucas Garnett. "I am very excited for the future of our program with her on board. The combination of her knowledge and drive will be wonderful for our team.

"Liz is a record holder at EKU, was twice Ohio Valley Conference Athlete of the Week and placed second in the OVC indoor conference meet. She will challenge our athletes and be a great new voice for our program."

Marcinek earned her bachelor degree in exercise sport science: sport management. As a Colonel athlete, she specialized in the long jump while also competing in the 100-meter and 4x100-meter relay. She currently holds the EKU record in long-jump with a leap of 6.04 meters (19 feet 9.75 inches).

On top of coaching the sprinters and jumpers, Marcinek will be the team social media manager.
