Pendleton finishes 5th at NAIA Outdoor Nationals
Wilson Pendleton capped off a stellar 2024 season with a 5th place finish in the shot put at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday.
After a strong regular season in which Pendleton grabbed 4 MSC Field Athlete of the Week awards, he was placed in the final of 3 groups and among the best in the country. In the end, the top 8 finishers all came from that third flight of throwers.
Pendleton's best throw of the opening round was his second at a distance of 17.16 meters. The throw was good enough for 3rd place after the round and advanced him to the final round of 10. Each finalist was given 3 more throws in the final. Pendleton could not top his opening round best and brought home the 5th place finish.
With the effort and finish, Pendleton also secured All-American status in the outdoor shot put event. For the full results, click here.
