Tigers fall in 5 sets on Senior Night
Men's Volleyball honored Finn Heinemann and Miguel Ariza Vega on Senior Night on Monday at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym against Campbellsville. With Georgetown leading 4-3, Campbellsville scored 3 straight to take the lead. GC turned to Jose Acuna Yepes, who delivered 3 kills as part of a 5-1 run to push Georgetown back in front, 9-7. Georgetown used the momentum and got on a roll in the 4th set. The Tigers raced out to a 5-2 lead over Campbellsville. CU made it tight again with a run to cut the GC lead to 7-6. Michal Bak was determined not to let CU back in as he walloped 3 straight to ignite an 8-1 run. Out of nowhere, Georgetown had taken a 15-7 lead, with the final point coming from Bak. Campbellsville fired back with 4 straight to cut the lead in half and send Georgetown to a timeout. The Georgetown defense forced 2 straight errors out of the timeout to keep the momentum on the home team side. Georgetown kept going and closed out the set, 25-18, to send the night to a 5th set.
