Packed field makes for interesting race

Georgetown College harriers went and faced one of the largest fields it will ever face Saturday in the Live in Louisville Classic. On the men's side – 62 teams with nearly 550 individuals; women's side – 55 teams and just shy of 500 individuals.

Maddie Waltmon paced the women, while Nick Clark paced the men as they finished 45th and 49th respectively. Waltmon's 19:50 second race places her 18th fastest all-time as a Tiger harrier. She finished seventh among other fellow Mid-South Conference opponents. Clark finished in the top 25 of MSC competitors, while running more than a minute faster than his previous 8k time this season.

Jaxon Downs, Bradley Perkins, Sam Peoples and Wyatt Gatewood were the other four scoring runners for GC, while Ben Kinsey and Harrison Booher played the all-important six-seven runners.

Rachel Puckett, Katie Milby, Kate Reese and Lauren Jackson were the top five women harriers with Waltmon, while Manny Stovik and Sarah Bailey crossed in the six and seven spots for Georgetown.

Riley Davis and Havanna Kirk were also on the course for the women, while Isaac Morris competed with the men.

Georgetown is back in action Saturday at the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Ky.
