Tigers finish 20th in packed Jenna Strong field

Georgetown College harriers hit the course on a gorgeous Friday afternoon in Wilmington, Ohio. The Tigers competed in the Jenna Strong Classic – supporting the fight against epilepsy while also working on improving times.

Maddie Waltmon backed up her 19:50 race with the exact same finish, crossing in 19th as the women finished 15th overall in a pack of 24 teams. Rachel Puckett, Lauren Jackson, Kate Reese and Riley Davis were the scoring harriers on the course. Coach Luke Garnett also had Manny Stovik, Sarah Bailey, Hadley Mitchell, India Pugh and Kirstin Thomas in the mix of 258 finishing runners.

GC was right behind traditional Mid-South Conference favorite Shawnee State, while Thomas More University and Lindsey Wilson College finished ahead of both.

On the men's side, it was Nick Clark again pacing the Tigers. He continued his pace of finishing under 28 minutes, crossing 71st of 325 finishing runners. GC took 20th among a packed field of 33 scoring teams.

Wyatt Gatewood, Sam Peoples, Jaxon Downs and Ben Kinsey rounded out the scorers for Georgetown. Bradley Perkins, Harrison Booher and Isaac Morris rounded out the Tiger runners.

GC is back in action Saturday as the teams head to Wilmore, Ky. for the Asbury Invitational.
