Tigers break 100 in season-opener

Georgetown College women's basketball opened the 2021-22 season in style – breaking a hundred. The Tigers (1-0) beat Miami University Hamilton, 101-52, Thursday. They had not hit triple digits since November 29, 2019 also a win over the Harriers.

The game was interesting in the first 10 minutes as Georgetown worked through new chemistry, but once the train was rolling the only thing that stalled it was the halftime break.

GC scored 54 points in the middle two quarters, including dominating the second. Coming out of quarter one break up two, 18-16, it was a 15-0 run that put the game out of reach. The Tigers took that 10 minutes 23-5. It was more in the third as they more than doubled-up MUH, 31-15.

Cassie Colon got it rolling with 10 of her game-high 23 points in the second quarter. She also dished out three assists and grabbed four rebounds in that quarter alone. The junior finished with a double-double, adding 12 rebounds, and for good measure six assists.
