Tigers never trail in win over Lourdes

Georgetown College women's basketball dominated the boards, hit 15 more shots and eight more free throws on the way to its second win of the season. The Tigers (2-0) never trailed on Homecoming Saturday, beating Lourdes University 93-61.

Seniors Grace White and Madison Darnell along with junior Cassie Colon helped the home team take over the game. White tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Darnell was two rebounds shy of a double-double, 19 points and eight rebounds; while Colon was three rebounds shy, 14 and seven. Freshman Callie Jackson also showed balance between scoring and clearing the boards with nine points and six rebounds.

The Gray Wolves hit nine threes to try and keep pace after falling behind by double digits early in the second quarter. The visitors pulled it back to single digits briefly, but at the half the Tigers were up 11 and it never got under 10 again.

GC is back in action 6 pm Thursday hosting Brescia University.
