Darnell's double-double leads Tigers

Madison Darnell tied her career-high in points and pulled down a career-high in rebounds to help Georgetown College women's basketball finish a three-game, Mid-South Conference road swing with a win. The Tigers (6-1, 2-1) went 2-1 on the trip, finishing off with a 64-53 win over Cumberland University.

Darnell scored double-digits in each half, opening with 12 and pouring in 10 more in the final 20 minutes. She also ripped down 17 rebounds.

GC raced out to a six-point lead and never looked back as the game had two lead changes and just one tie all coming in the first four minutes of action. Darnell's layup with 6:33 left put the visitors up for good.

Jazzmyn Elston added 10 points, while Grace White and Callie Jackson each had nine. White added six rebounds and five assists as well.

Georgetown is back in action 4 pm Saturday hosting Wilberforce University.
