Women's Basketball earns 3-seed in NAIA Tournament

Georgetown Women's Basketball will play for the NAIA National Championship for the 18th time in program history after earning an at-large bid into the 64-team field, as announced by the NAIA on Thursday night. The Tigers are the 3-seed in the Cramer Quadrant and will take on 14-seed, Milligan, in the first round, in New Orleans, LA. Tip time is scheduled for 8:30pm ET from the Loyola University Sports Complex in New Orleans, LA.

Georgetown enters the tournament with a record of 24-6, while Milligan goes into the tourney with a mark of 23-7. The Tigers are 3-1 all-time against Milligan. The first meeting came back in the 1985-86 season, and the last took place during the 2017-18 campaign.

The game is part of a 4-team pod, hosted by Loyola (LA), in New Orleans. The other first round matchup features 6-seed, Loyola, taking on 11-seed, Southeastern (FL). 1st round games will take place on Friday, March 15, with the 2nd round game playing on Saturday, March 16. The winner of the 4-team pod advances to the national site in Sioux City, IA, where the last 16 teams remaining will decide the national champion.
