Tigers provide solid start to 2022 season

The Georgetown women's golf team kicked off its 2022 campaign in the Blue Raider Fall Invite at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson. The course layout saw the players facing a Par 71 course at 5,810 yards.

The Tigers sit in 3rd place after day 1 of the 2-day event, behind Lindsey Wilson and Northwestern Ohio. Seniors Katherine Wesley and Grace Heady paced the Tigers on the day. Each shot a combined 160 on the 36-hole opening day, with each putting out rounds of 79 and 81. Junior Sarah Hagedorn also shot 160 on the day and had the individual low round of the day with a 76.

"I think the women shot well on the opening day. They know there were a few opportunities to go lower on their individual rounds," said Head Coach Austin Sparks. "We talked as a team at the end of the day, and they know what adjustments to make in their games. I'm really looking forward to seeing that play out on day 2. I think we have a really good shot at some low scoring across the board."

Freshman Holly Holton shot 164 in her collegiate debut, while Sophomore Brenna Rose turned in a 177 to start.

The Tigers will wrap-up the event on Tuesday.
