Holton, Tigers dominate Shawnee State Invite
After a strong 2nd place showing at the UPike Fall Invite on Monday & Tuesday, Georgetown's Holly Holton took her game to another level on Friday at Shawnee State's Fall Invite. Holton fired a 79 to win the individual title by 4 shots over her nearest competitor. Holton also led the Tigers to a 9-shot win in the team standings over Shawnee State, Rio Grande and Ohio Christian.
While Holton birdied just 1 hole in her round, she was the best at limiting mistakes in the 18-hole tourney. She also only tallied 1 double-bogey on the par-4 16th hole. The 6 was sandwiched around 5 pars that Holton used to close out her round with 10 pars total.
Maggie Browning finished with an 88, good enough to tie for 4th place on the day. Kaelin Stull finished a single stroke behind Browning and 6th place on the leaderboard. Jaycee Kabaski competed in the individual standings only and shot a 92 to come home in 10th place. Madison Kemper and Addy Gillmor finished 15th and 16th respectively with scores of 101 and 104.
The Tigers will take most of October to prepare for the MSC Fall Preview, taking place in Bowling Green from October 26-28th.
