Brock leads 23-goal outburst over St. Andrews

Georgetown's offensive prowess in the AAC continued on Saturday with a 23-2 win over St. Andrews, improving the Tigers to 2-0 in the league.

On a sunny day in Georgetown, the Tigers got the offense going early. Maddie Brock scored twice in the 1st, as did Kara Brill, Katerina Gilbert and Faith Boa. The Tigers also got a 1st quarter goal from Maggie Byrd, to take a 9-1 lead after 1. The roll kept going in the 2nd. 8 more goals from Georgetown got the running clock going early in the 2nd as the Tigers took a 17-1 lead to halftime.

The pace slowed in the 3rd as the Tigers worked their depth and playbook more in the 3rd, resulting in a lone goal from Brock to push the lead to 18-1 heading to the 4th. In the final quarter, Madison Catoggio added a goal to her 4 assist day, wrapping up a strong team effort for the win.

Maddie Brock finished the day with 7 goals and an assist. Faith Boa tallied 5 goals on 5 shots. Katerina Gilbert was strong overall with 4 goals, 2 assists and 2 ground balls. Aubree Lair turned in a stellar day with 2 goals, 1 assist, 7 ground balls, 9 draw controls, and a caused turnover.

The Tigers step out of conference on Monday afternoon to take on Madonna. First draw is set for 2:00pm at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown.
